The acre of land at Menzies Creek was donated to the Chandler Co-operative by Shirley and Peter Bruce. Menzies Creek is in The Dandenong Ranges just 55 minutes from Melbourne CBD. Chandler Co-operative provided assistance to individuals with disabilities and their families. Chandlers focus was to provide support in integrated settings to enable individuals to develop to their fullest potential. This support included early intervention programs, integated education in local schools and work experience leading into employment in the community.

The land is our final challenge. To provide a home where a number of people with disablilties can live meaningful lives. The focus is on the individual, building on his or her strengths and enabling them to be part of the community. Support from a number of groups both Government and non Government will be required for this land and the home to become a reality.
