FDB CARDINIA RESULTS

The first set of data for the ‘Cardinia Compass: Indicators of Community Sustainability’ has been collected by staff at Cardinia Council, by a Swinburne University of Technology (Lilydale) consulting group and by the community.

And what did they find?

Cardinia is booming. The population is expected to almost double in the next 15 years. But the growth pattern isn’t balanced evenly across the Shire. Should it be? What do we want the Shire to look like? (Population highlights dropdown)

We live here because Cardinia is a nice healthy natural country environment – or is it? (Environment highlights dropdown)

School retention rates are lower in Cardinia than for the rest of the State. Is this because our kids are dumb? Or are they moving on to better things?
and

Our economy is going great guns – retail spending is up, employment growth is double that predicted, and the number of business work places grew when the rest of the State was in decline. So does this bode well for the future? (Economic Highlights dropdown)

Cardinia has safe vibrant communities actively committed to the vitality of their neighbourhood. At least that what they say! (Community Highlights dropdown)
and

We are a fit and healthy lot (at least we think we are), and our lifestyle is great. So why do we want more, particularly for our kids? (Wellbeing_Highlights dropdown)
